The Firm
Northridge is an independent law firm focussed on the sport sector. We are a team of 40 fee earners working on the most complex and important work in sports for a roster of high profile domestic and international clients. Northridge is ranked in Tier 1 for Sport in both Legal 500 and Chambers.
The role
Northridge has an established reputation as a leading advisor on the commercialisation of sport and has acted on many of the highest value and most complicated commercial deals in sport in recent years. We have a strong client base amongst prominent brands, players, rights holders and sports tech and data companies. We are looking to recruit a mid-level to senior commercial associate to join our team. As well as advising on a range of commercial matters, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of regulatory matters in sport.
Your work will include advising on:
- sponsorship, merchandising and licencing arrangements for both rights holders and brands;
- the intersection between technology and sport (including for sports data and analytics providers, and institutional customer / rights holder clients);
- establishing new sports competitions (domestically and internationally) and the contractual relationships between different stakeholders in sport.
This role would suit an ambitious lawyer between 4 – 8 PQE, looking to join a growing and exciting firm.
Requirements
Solid commercial experience from a leading City practice
- Exceptional communicator, with strong client facing skills
- Excellent academics
- Experience advising on any of the following will be an advantage, but are not essential: technology supply and licensing agreements, media rights, and data protection
- Experience in the sports sector will be an advantage, particularly for more senior candidates.
