Integrity in Tennis

The Independent Review of Integrity in Tennis was commissioned in 2016 after a report from the BBC and BuzzFeed alleged “evidence of widespread match-fixing at the top level of world tennis”.

Northridge was appointed as solicitors and secretariat to a three-person Independent Review Panel (Adam Lewis KC, Beth Wilkinson and Marc Henzelin) appointed by the organisations responsible for governing tennis.

Our team assisted the panel in gathering evidence from more than 200 stakeholders across the sport and in producing, in April 2018, the Interim Report and Record of Evidence and Analysis. Following publication of the Interim Report, our team supported the panel through the consultation period, which included analysis of approximately 600 pages of submissions from more than 30 interested parties.  Northridge supported the panel in producing the Final Report, which was published in December 2018.

"Northridge played a pivotal role in the production of the independent review panel’s interim and final reports, and the underlying review of evidence on which the reports were based. They did an excellent job in marshalling and analysing the extensive data and documentation, and organising the hearing of the many witnesses and the recording of their evidence. In addition, Jon Ellis as secretary provided invaluable input to the panel on the substance of the issues that we had to decide."
