Embedded in the rise of a SportsTech superstar

Performance analysis is an area of major growth within the sports sector and the Northridge team have been embedded in the rise of Northern Ireland-based STATSports, which signed a $1.5bn deal with US Soccer in March 2018.

Under the deal, STATSports’ athlete monitoring devices will be worn by four million footballers in the US, enabling the governing body to identify talent more accurately and give players, coaches and support teams access to rich data that can better inform their training and recovery plans.

STATSports is the world leader in GPS player tracking, with a client list including the majority of Premier League clubs, Juventus, England Rugby and teams in the NBA and NFL. Northridge lawyers have guided this exciting, fast-growth SportsTech business to meet the challenges it has faced during its rapid expansion.

Playing a central role in the adoption of data analytics across sport, we have advised various clients on the integration of data into their decision-making structures. We have also supported disruptive businesses such as SPORTLOGiQ and Statsbomb who, like STATSports, are using data to shake up their segments of the industry.

"The greatest compliment I can pay the team at Northridge is that they aren't like other lawyers. They understand our business and our industry. They don't tell me the law, they tell me what to do."
