Northridge lawyers defend IAAF lifetime bans
In January 2016 the Ethics Board of the International Athletics Associations Federation (IAAF) found three former officials of the IAAF and All Russia Athletic Federation had extorted money from a Russian long-distance runner, Liliya Shobukhova, in return for covering up her failed doping tests.
The Ethics Board imposed a lifetime ban from athletics on the trio. When each of them appealed, our lawyers successfully defended each decision of the Ethics Board before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. This was an important case in the fight against corruption in sport.
